What are Invisalign® Clear Braces?

Invisalign clear braces are a series of plastic aligner trays that are crafted from a digital impression of your smile. These trays fit snugly and comfortably while applying gentle force to the teeth that need to be repositioned.

The aligners are virtually undetectable by those you interact with daily due to the discreet nature of the fitted, clear, plastic trays. These orthodontic appliances are removable for eating and thorough oral hygiene.

How Does the Aligner System Work?

Your detailed dental impression is sent to the Invisalign lab, where a complete simulation is created (without a full commitment from you) for your review. This animation shows exactly how each tooth will be realigned to transform your smile.  If you choose to proceed, the aligners are created and sent back to our office.

On your next visit, the first tray is checked for comfort and a few weeks’ worth of trays are provided for you. Every two weeks you replace the current aligners with the next set in the series. Depending on your case the duration of treatment may last from three to 18 months.

The aligners must be worn for at least 22 hours per day for a successful outcome.

Clear Aligner Options

The following choices are available from Invisalign, and can treat mild to moderately complex cases of dental misalignment and crowding.

• Invisalign Express - for mild malocclusions, this version comes with either five or ten trays and can last from three to six months.
• Invisalign Lite – for intermediate orthodontic issues that do not require the full option, this version provides effective treatment in about seven months.
• Invisalign Full – for moderate to complex cases. Some serious malocclusions cannot be corrected with aligners alone. A combination of traditional and clear braces may be used in these cases.
• Invisalign Teen – for teens who need help with compliance, this version comes with an indicator that can tell parents when they are not being worn long enough.
